 "Fin" Coming to The Market!

Despite the recent heat wave, Market patrons are still showing up in good numbers to select high quality produce. We are now in the middle of our peak season with corn, melons, tomatoes and fresh-picked string beans available. Local vegetables and fruits are all freshly picked and offer the finest in quality and flavor. With today's high fuel prices, why travel out of town to shop when you can obtain high quality produce at a price that almost always beats local supermarket prices?

Come down and enjoy the bounty while it lasts! Bill Adams, owner of Blue Mountain Gem and Ore, with custom jewelry.Sales to the public will begin at 4:00 pm and go through dusk (approximately 8:00 pm). From past experience — come early!

"Fin" Pays A Visit to The Market This Friday

"Fin", a 25-foot metal sculpture of a Chinook salmon, will be making a visit to the Market this Friday, August 22. The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, (CTUIR) is promoting its annual Salmon Walk on Saturday, August 23rd. CTUIR would like to encourage others to attend their festival as well as to come down to the Market this Friday to kick-off their annual event. Bring the entire family down to see Fin and enjoy the atmosphere!

New Vendor Location: From now until the end of August, the 300 Block of Main Street will host produce vendors from the Market each Friday. This will help to alleviate current vendor overcrowding on the 400 Block of Main Street. We thank the Pendleton City Council for its approval of our request to open the 300 Block and to the downtown merchants for their continued patience while we adapt to our growing Market. And, of course, thanks too for the support from local patrons who shop weekly at the Market for their fresh fruits, vegetables and crafts. Please remember to look across the street for vendors in this new location as well as downtown merchants who have chosen to remain open during Market hours!

Musical Entertainment: Musical entertainment this coming Friday will be provided by JD Kendall. JD is a young, talented local musician who plays guitar and sings contemporary songs. He often performs in a local band with his friend Peter Walters, founder of the annual Rock and Roll workshop held at the Arts Center here in Pendleton. JD will be playing between 5PM and 7PM. Please help support our local talented musicians when you have the opportunity!

If you would like to use your debit card at the Market, please come to the PFM table at booth space #9 to use our card swipe machine. Rather than receiving cash, our staff will hand out $5 wooden tokens that may be used at any vendor booth to purchase any item at the Market. Can't get much easier than that!

Don't forget to visit the Community Booths too!

See you at the Market!
